FC Karachi crowned Leisure Leagues Season III Champions

KARACHI: Football Club Karachi won 11 out of their 14 matches and drew one to accumulate 23 points and win the Premier League played during Leisure Leagues Season III here at Karachi United Football Stadium.

FC Karachi maintained a goal difference of 33 goals and lost only two matches to top the league’s chart. They drew their last league match 1-1 against Liverpool FC. Façade FC secured the second position with 10 wins and a draw, accumulating 21 points and a goal difference of 29. They won their last match against Iqbal Memorial by 2-1.

Liverpool FC secured the third position with 19 points in the eight-team event.Facade FC were adjudged the best team of the day while Dillon Espenheiro of Liverpool received the best goal-keeper award.

The last round of another eight-team Premier Leisure of Leagues Season III will get under way here at 16-Star Football Ground on Sunday (tomorrow).

There is an interesting situation in this league as table toppers North Muslim with 22 points are to face stiff resistance from second-placed RF United, who are only one point behind. RF United have a huge goal difference of 30. That of North Muslim is 22. If RF United won their match and North Muslim lost or drew, RF United would most likely top the chart and become champions of Season III 16-Star venue.

The two teams don’t have any threat from the rest of the teams. The third placed side Sir Syed FC have just 15 points.
