OKARA: A woman was shot and injured by her brother-in-law here on Wednesday. Aasia Bibi of village Shirin near Gogera was sleeping at home when her brother-in-law Imtiaz Hussain entered the house and allegedly tried to rape his sister-in-law Aasia. She resisted which infuriated Imtiaz. He opened fire and injured her. The criminal fled the scene while the victim was rushed to the hospital. Later, she was referred to Jinnah Hospital Lahore where her leg was amputated.
