Rawalpindi: Fatima Jinnah Women University department of Women Research and Resource Centre (WRRC) organised a seminar on ‘Mainstreaming and Awareness on Transgender Rights’ here on Wednesday.
FJWU Vice Chancellor Samina Amin Qadir said we should talk on transgender rights, we all are humans and you have to raise awareness about this issue among people. CEO of Wajood organisation Bubbly Malik (Founder, Transgender Activist) said that Transgender people deserve something vital, they deserve your respect from that respect comes a more compassionate community. Bubbly Malik said “this is the Greatness of Allah, that he blessed me with this existence and you, your own existence”
Visiting Lecturer QAU, Qualified Researcher, social activist and trainer, Aysha Mughal talked about Mainstreaming and Economic Resources of transgender rights and said all human beings has his own personality, and we as transgender want our identity or reorganisation of acceptance, that is our right to accept our personality as human beings and I am working for that if any family has transgender person they have to accept that person and not feel ashamed to have them.
Director (WRRC) Dr. Shaheena Ayub Bhatti talked about transgender rights awareness and introduced WRRC department to the guests. Lawyer Human Rights Ms. Khadija Ali talked about “Bill of Transgender Rights” in detail. Later, Vice Chancellor FJWU Samina Amin Qadir presented university souvenirs to the guests.
