MANSEHRA: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Tehsil Nazim Khuram Khan Swati announced to join the Jamaat-i-Islami here on Tuesday.
“I cannot work freely and independently for the betterment of people and that is why decided to leave PML-N and joined JI in the large public interest,” he told a hurriedly called news conference at the Mansehra Press Club.
The leaders of JI including district head Sajjad Hussain Shah, deputy head Dr Tariq Sheerazi and tehsil councillors belonging to various parties were also present on the occasion.
In response to a query, the tehsil nazim said that if his party, Jamaat-i-Islami which was part of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, awarded ticket to him then he would contest the coming general elections from PK-32-Mansehra.
