22 employees suspended
LAHORE: A spokesman for the Directorate General Public Relations Punjab Monday expressed his pledge that the office would not be allowed to become hostage to few "miscreants."
In a statement, he warned that damage to the office property and maltreatment would, by no means, be acceptable. He made it clear that the allegations leveled by the clerk union against officers of the department were, in fact, a pack of lies. He lamented that union activists were misleading the employees of the office through false statements. He expressed the concern that lady officers of the department were dragged out of their rooms by the union activists as a result of which they sustained injuries. The union activists damaged the windscreen of the official vehicle of lady officers visiting from Multan and Rawalpindi and they harassed them.
He said that 22 employees had been suspended for causing damage to government property and agitation and made it clear that there was no restriction on working employees to enter the office. However, to ensure the protection of the employees and the official record, security arrangements have been made at the main entrance to the office.
