Karachi Blues, Multan reach Q Trophy Grade-II final
KARACHI: Karachi Blues and Multan blasted their way into the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade-II as they beat Abbottabad and Hyderabad, respectively, at different venues on Monday.
On the third and final day of the semi-finals, Karachi Blues crushed Abbottabad by ten wickets here at the National Stadium. Karachi Blues achieved the 32-run target in 6.5 overs without losing any wicket.
Having gained 132 runs lead, Karachi Blues dismissed Abbottabad for only 163 in 57.3 overs. Mohammad Hasnain hit 47 with four fours, while Kamran Ghulam made 36 with four fours.Left-arm spinner Mohammad Asghar got 4-46, for match figures of 8-70.
Abbottabad scored 169 in their first innings. In response, Karachi Blues piled up 301.In the other semi-final, at Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan defeated Hyderabad by seven wickets.Multan achieved the 173-run target for the loss of three wickets.Imran Rafiq hit 54 and Waqar Hussain made 38.Hyderabad staged 117 and 172. Multan made 117 in their first innings.
