Man kills former mother-in-law
LAHORE: A 58-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her former son-in-law in the Badami Bagh area on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Afza of Imamia Colony, Shahdara. Accused Abdul Razzaq divorced his wife Saira and developed relations with his former sister-in-law. Afza objected to that, upon which, Razzaq nursed grudge against her. On the day of incident, he allegedly kidnapped her at Imamia Colony, Shahdara, took her to the Badami Bagh area and shot her dead.
The accused's ex-wife Saira also sustained injuries when she tried to save her mother. Police have removed the body to morgue. robberies: Robbers deprived citizens of their valuables and vehicles worth millions of rupees here on Sunday.
Robbers looted valuables worth Rs 790,000 from the house of one Azhar Iqbal in the Nawab Town area, valuables worth Rs 610,000 from the house of one Javed in Kot Lakhpat, Rs 118,000 from one Asghar in Lytton Road, Rs 70,000 from one Nawaz in Shahdara, Rs 70,000 from one Amir in Green Town and Rs 10,000 from one Badaruddin in the Ichhra area.
Two cars were lifted from the areas of Iqbal Town and Harbanspura. Seven bikes were stolen from the areas of Shadbagh, Shahdara, Shahdara Town, Lytton Road, Shalimar, North Cantt and Factory Area.

PHP: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) cliamed to have arrested 242 criminals, including 134 proclaimed offenders (POs). PHP teams also seized three Kalashnikovs, four rifles, 28 pistols, 233 bullets, 1471 litre liquor and 13,186 gram charas from the possession of the arrested persons.
Meanwhile, PHP also reunited eight missing children with their parents. They were identified as Muzamil, Haider, Muhammad Ullah, M Bakhsh, Nazar Hussain, Safder Ali, Rimsha and M Habib.
Youth dies: An 18-year-old youth died after falling off a moving tractor-trolley in the Manga Mandi area on Sunday.
The victim, yet to be identified, fell down from the moving tractor-trolley due to the driver’s negligence, eyewitnesses said. The accused driver escaped from the scene. The victim suffered injuries and was removed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
