PPP to hold public meeting in Liaquatabad on April 29
The Pakistan Peoples Party has announced that it will hold a major public meeting in the Liaquatabad area of Karachi on April 29, which will be addressed by party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The announcement came on Sunday as PPP leaders Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Saeed Ghani, Shehla Raza, Rashid Rabbani and others inspected the venue of the public meeting to be held at the Tanki Ground of Liquatabad.
Speaking to journalists on the occasion, PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro said that the public meeting would prove to be the biggest public gathering in the political history of the metropolis.
He said the PPP’s Sindh government duly deserved the credit for restoring peace in Karachi with the support of law-enforcement agencies. Saeed Ghani said that the MQM was responsible for instances of China-cutting, extortion of money and lawlessness in the city.
He said that PPP activists in the past never resorted to violence despite the fact that they had to face violence and killings of their comrades in a large number. He said that at present everyone was free to exercise his political will and freedom in Karachi, whereas in the past people had to face violence and torture if they stood for their due rights. He said Liaquatabad would emerge as the new stronghold of the PPP in Karachi.
