LAHORE : Punjab Minister for Primary & Secondary Health Khaja Imran Nazir Saturday directed the Deputy District Officers (DDOs) Health to play role for eliminating quackery from the province. He said no pressure or influence should be taken in action against the quacks. He was addressing the monthly conference of Deputy Districts Officers Health at a local hotel.
Primary & Secondary Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan, Director General Dr Munir Ahmed, senior officers and DDOs Health of all the towns from the province attended the conference.
Imran said the success of EPI Programme was the result of tireless efforts of the officers and the staff of Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department. Due to the Programme the routine immunization coverage in Punjab has been crossed 80 percent. However, it can be reached up to 100 percent if the community especially parents cooperate with the health teams. He asked the parents to spare sometime for their children to get them fully immunise against the fatal diseases. Ali Jan Khan directed the officers to visit health facilities in their jurisdiction and take immediate steps for removing the gaps identified during visits. During the conference, necessary instructions and guidelines were provided by the highest and the experts to the DDOsH for prevention of diseases improving EPI coverage and primary health facilities.
