After their arrests, they admitted to possessing illegal arms and explosive material.

A judicial magistrate of District South set April 27 for the indictment of a fake female doctor, Aisha. The judge directed the prosecution to supply copies of the case to the accused. Aisha is alleged to have been acting as a doctor at the gynecology ward of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for the last two years.

On her arrest, she revealed herself as Aisha, wife of Abdul Karim, a resident of Korangi. She was said to have acquired education up to the matric level only and did not even have a lady health visitor or a midwife certificate.

He was arrested on Wednesday and produced before the administrative judge on Thursday when he was remanded for a day. On Friday he appeared in the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) authorities and the investigation officer (IO) sought further remand, so that the accused could be interrogated thoroughly about his illegal deeds.

Bail granted

The Sindh High Court on Friday granted bail to a former chairman of Benazir Housing Cell and two others in a corruption case.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested the then chairman of the Benazir Housing Cell, Manzar Abbas, along with some other officials and private persons in 2015 for their alleged involvement in the misappropriation of over Rs365 million funds for the low-cost housing scheme in Sindh. The former cell chief along with two others, through their counsel, moved applications for bail, but the NAB prosecutor opposed the pleas.
