Rs10.75b granted for signal-free Islamabad Expressway
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbassi has approved a grant of Rs10.75 billion for the Capital Development Authority (CDA), so as to enable it to execute Phase III of the signal-free Islamabad Expressway project.
He has directed that a token amount of Rs1 billion shall be released during the current financial year by June 30, 2018 as a supplementary development grant to allow the CDA to initiate work immediately. On Thursday, he has given approval that Rs7 billion shall be allocated for the project in the PSDP 2018-19 and the remaining Rs2.75 billion shall be allocated for the project in PSDP 2019-20. The prime minister directed that CDA shall complete Package A by the end of next financial year (June 30, 2019) and package B by September 30, 2019 at the earliest.
