ANP leader terms PTI move a political gimmick
PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak on Thursday said that Imran Khan should not be credited for taking action against his “for sale” lawmakers.
Through a statement issued here, Sardar Hussain Babak said that the ANP had expelled two members for horse-trading in 1991 and his party had a history of principled politics.
He said all the political parties acknowledged the principled politics of ANP within and outside parliament. He added that money could not buy the ANP members in the election.
He added that Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the strength of these corrupt members. He said PTI action was insignificant as the government term was about to expire. “Imran Khan knew the buyer of the votes of his party members in advance. He should also explain whom he voted in the Senate election,” Sardar Babak said.
He said that PTI had no constitutional and moral ground for continuing the government and the decision of leaving the budget for the next government explains the problems within the PTI.
The ANP leader said that Imran Khan had declared these members corrupt three years ago but did not take action against them for keeping his party government intact in the province. The action taken when the government was about to complete its term was nothing but a bid to deceive the voters, he said.
