KARACHI: Tanveer Malik, Director General Broadening of Tax Base (BTB) Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), on Thursday announced suspension of notices issued to builders and developers for providing details of allottees or investors up to June 30, 2018.
Malik made a statement to this effect during a meeting with Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) at their head office.
“The purpose of asking for this information from builders and developers was just for widening the tax net and it was never meant for harassing builders and developers,” the FBR official said.
While announcing the suspension of notices, the tax official said this issue would be resolved with the consultation of the stakeholders.
