LAHORE: Employees of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) on Monday observed pen-down strike and protested outside the head office of the company against the government's plan to bifurcate gas utility into two.
Members of SNGPL Employees Union organised the protest, which held at Kashmir Road, outside head office of the company as well as regional office in Gulberg. Speaking on the occasion, the employees strongly criticised the government's move, terming it an anti-employee step. SNGPL is earning profit and is considered a professionally-run company. There is no need to split it into two, said speakers.
