It is quite a comedown for a party founded on ideological grounds by men like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Mubashir Hassan and Rasool Bukhsh Talpur to come to be what it has become now. What is disturbing is the silence of men like Raza Rabbani, who is considered to be a committed socialist. The unfortunate fact is that when state corporations like the PSM, PIA, etc, were being driven to bankruptcy and jobs were sold out to the highest bidders the likes of Manzoor Chaudhry, Raza Rabbani, etc, chose to be silent spectators. The country and its economy were destroyed by rampant, institutionalised corruption in the Rental Power Projects and even organisations like the EOBI were not left alone.
There is neither rightist, nor leftist. This is all about power politics with one single motto: moral values and ethics have no role in politics. How else can one explain all our so-called liberals and leftists voting for the JUI-F candidate in the Senate elections for the deputy chairmanship?
