JUI-F stands by law, Constitution, says Fazl
MINGORA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that his party stands by the law of the land and Constitution.
“We do not support any movement that violated the law or constitution,” he told public meeting in Khwazakhela tehsil of Swat district on Saturday.
The Maulana said that the JUI-F would not accept the Western way of life under the garb of moderanisation and progressivism in the country.
Maulana Fazl said the JUI-F neither believed nor has any association with any armed organisation that used force for acceptance of demands. He added that the struggle for enforcement of Islamic rule in the country would continue.
“The movement for Shariah enforcement is very much alive. We shall continue our peaceful struggle for implementation of Islamic law within the ambit of Constitution,” he added. He said the religious minded people and scholars were considered extremists and narrow minded while those abuse the powers entrusted to them and live a luxurious life were dubbed as moderates.
Without naming anyone, the Maulana said that the nationalist parties and politicians had supported the Russian invasion of Afghanistan and then supported the US attack against that country too.
He added that Russia and US killed thousands of Pakhtuns and the same was still continued and “you are supporting it.” Maulana Fazl said that whenever they talked of putting an end to vulgarity they were called narrow minded.
He said that the students and teachers of religious seminaries were under pressure. He added that the people of Swat witnessed the worse situation and suffered a lot and faced displacement. “We have to take this country forward. This is our land and our home,” he maintained. Maulana Fazl said that a specific group was protecting and promoting their vested interests for the last 70 years in the country and trying to promote vulgarity among the youth but the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl would not let these people succeed in implementing this agenda.
He said that people, police and security forces rendered huge sacrifices for restoration of peace in the country. A huge number of activists of other political parties joined the JUI-F on the occasion. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl provincial chief Maulana Gul Naseeb, information secretary Abdul Jalil Jan, Maulana Shujaul Mulk, Qari Mehmood and others also spoke on the occasion.
