The sewage line outside our factory located in Sector 28, Korangi Industrial Area, Landhi, burst a few days ago. The area is now inundated with sewage water that is affecting the workers of many factories as well as residents of nearby localities. It is difficult for us to enter our factory, as there is a large pool of sewage water outside the factory’s gate.
Although the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) was informed about the issue in a timely manner, the authorities have not taken any action to date. It seems that they are waiting for the outbreak of some serious disease and many deaths to occur before taking any action. The KWSB should take notice of the situation and take necessary steps to save workers of factories and residents of the locality from falling ill.
