PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Wednesday sealed two factories in Mardan and Abbottabad for preparing fake barrages of the branded companies and non-compliance with safety standards.
The Mardan team of the authority sealed a factory at Paar Hoti in Mardan district for producing fake branded barrages. The action was taken under the supervision of Director Technical Dr Abdul Sattar Shah and Deputy Director Zeeshan Mahsud. The factory management would be proceeded against under the rules of KP Food Safety Act 2014.
A similar action was taken at the Small Industrial Estate Abbottabad against the Sarban Oil Mills. Sections 23 and 26 of the Food Safety Act 2014 were invoked which pertain to non-compliance with the safety standards.
The communication said social media and traditional media campaigns had been launched while Standing Orders of Procedures for food business had been distributed to the target groups as well via food safety officers.
