Nine awarded life-term for kidnapping in Larkana

LARKANA: Presiding Officer, Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) Larkana Muhammad Riaz Rajput on Thursday awarded life imprisonment on two counts to nine accused and imposed fine of Rs20,000 each after they were found guilty of kidnapping two persons, injuring one and firing on police party of Waggan Police Station of Kambar-Shahdadkot district on 8-4-2013.
The properties of the accused were ordered to be forfeited. While accused Mustoo alias Ghulam Mustafa Mugheri son of Jogi Mugheri was acquitted by the court. The culprits included Akbar Buledi and proclaimed offenders Aijaz Janwari, Sikandar Janwari, Hakim alias Hakoo Janwari, Barkat Janwari, Manzoor Janwari, Nusrat Janwari, Imdad alias Nang Mugheri and Fida Mugheri.
According to brief history of the case on 8-4-2013 at 2000 hours, these accused abducted Ayaz Husain and his relative Qurban Ali. The proclaimed offender Sikandar Janwari fired shots from his rifle at them, which injured Mukhtar Ali.
When the police party, led by SHO Waggan police station reached the scene and ordered the accused to throw their weapons, they also opened fire at them and left the abductees Ayaz Husain and Qurban Ali near village Phoroo Lakha. Te case was registered under Sections 365-A, 324, 353, 148, 149 PPC, R/W S-7(e) & (h) of Anti-terrorism Act, 1997.
