PESHAWAR: A three-day event titled NUTEC’18 with a theme of “Technological in mind, entrepreneurial in heart and responsible in action” started at the FAST National University campus on Friday.
A press release said that the event was organised by FAST-NUCES, Peshawar for the sixth time with National Radio and Telecom Corporation, Liaison Corporation, Js Emporium, Stanley Swaad Foods, Peshawar Food Diaries as sponsors.
The Jang Media Group is the event media partner for NUTEC-2018 just like it remained media partner of NUTEC-2014, which was a massive success.
The overall prize money set for the winners is around half a million rupees.
According to the Director of the campus, Dr Muhammad Tariq, the purpose of such events is to promote a competitive culture among the students and to instil a spirit of positive thinking to channelise their energies in constructive activities.
The director shared the vision of FAST-NUCES and apprised the audience of opportunities available there for talented students.
Shahram Khan, the health minister, on the occasion stressed the importance of such activities for nurturing talented youth of province and country.
According to the NUTEC Convenor, Muhammad Tariq Yousafzai, students from 400 teams of 51 varsities of Pakistan are participating in 35 categories of the contests.
The NUTEC event is regularly organised by the student body of FAST University, Peshawar Campus which has grown from a small technology competition into the largest gathering of technology savvy students and entrepreneurs from across the country, the press release said. The event showcases its competitions ranging from alumni homecoming, job fair, project exhibitions, cultural performances, to rigorous competitions in IT, engineering, social competitions and sports.
