ZA Bhutto death anniversary observed in Dubai
DUBAI: The 39th death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was not only observed in Pakistan but abroad as well where democratic forces also paid rich tribute to the 9th prime minister of Pakistan ZA Bhutto in Dubai in recognition of his life-long struggle for stability, integrity and democracy in Pakistan.
On the eve of the death anniversary, the workers of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) organised a public gathering at a local hotel in Dubai where leaders of the party paid tribute to ZA Bhutto’s matchless services. The PPP leader Sardar Javed Yaqoub lauded the sacrifices of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for democracy. Talking to The News, he asked the current government and its institutions to hold transparent and fair elections in the country. He said that the powers should be transferred fairly to meet the challenges of current era.
Senior PPP leader Mian Munir Hans said the party was united under the leadership of young and zealous Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and with the vision of Asif Ali Zardari. He said that he hoped the PPP would clinch victory in the next elections.
Old companion of Benazir Bhutto in Dubai, Rashid Chughtai said ZA Bhutto gave his life for the liberation of his people from tyranny and oppression. People’s Youth Organisation (PYO) leader Raja Khayam acknowledged that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had activated hundreds of youth by his vision. He termed “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari” is a leader of young generation of Pakistan.
The PPP women wing leader Zahida Malik said Bhutto lived and died for his people and will be remembered forever. The anniversary was attended by the PPP Middle East leaders including Akram Farooque, Farooq Baniya, Khadeem Shaheen, Abid Hussain Basharat, Shireen Durrani. There left no empty chair in the hall as participants were standing on the floor during the ceremony.
