All Pakistan Art and Fashion Festival concludes at GIK

SWABI: The three-day All Pakistan Art and Fashion Festival concluded at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology on Monday

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Additional Secretary Sports, Tourism, Archaeology, Museums, Culture and Youth Affairs Babar Khan was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.

Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) General Manager (Admin and Properties) Sajjad Hameed, Director Culture Ajmal Khan, faculty members, students and a large number of visitors attended the ceremony.

Babar Khan said the culture of people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was distinctive and had a long history. He said that youth should be educated about the importance of indigenous diversity of our very rich culture to play a great role in preserving it.

The official said the Tourism Department supported the youth events which promoted the indigenous culture and art. The youth should be involved in such activities to know about their culture and art, he said.

He praised the organisers for arranging the festival and said the students came from across the country would have found it the best opportunity to interact with each other and learn about the culture, traditions, scenic places and other aspects of life of the people and the province.

The chief guest later gave cash prize and award to a student, Sadullah, for outstanding performance in painting competitions.The young students, both male and female, participated in various events including theatre dramas, art exhibition, painting competitions, landscaping painting, face painting, calligraphy, fashion show and a lot of more.

The theatre dramas themed on different topics and cultures were well received. The students played different characters in the dramas and received thunderous applause from the audience.

Messages on promoting non-violence in society, importance of education particularly science and technology and services to humanity were highlighted in the dramas.The students were also taken to Beer Gali, the newly identified scenic spot located in the Swabi district, where they showcased different cultural and tourism aspects of the serene place. The students then prepared paintings of Beer Gali’s beauty and sereneness.

A fashion show and cultural paintings on T-Shirts competitions were other features of the colourful gala. The models attired in different cultural and traditional colourful dresses displayed a catwalk on the ramp.
