KARACHI: Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA) trounced A A Foods by 10 wickets in the latest round of the Southern Zone matches in the 19th National Seniors Cup Cricket Tournament here at the RLCA Cricket Ground the other day.
According to the information made available by the Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) on Monday, batting first, A A Foods scored 191 for nine in the allotted 25 overs. RLCA openers, Aziz-ur-Rahman and Rizwan Rana, raced to the target in a matter of 17.1 overs.
A A Foods had also got off to a flying start through their opening pair of Wasim Shafaat (45 off 22 balls) and Sardar (37 off 24 balls).The innings was devoid of momentum in the middle overs mainly because of left-arm spinner Abdul Qadir (3-16) who was assisted by medium-pacer Muhammad Naved (3-36) and off-spinner Asif Jah (2-43).
Iftikhar Ahmed’s 43 off 36 balls rekindled hopes of the total reaching mammoth proportions but A A Foods lost five wickets for 17 runs.Man-of-the-Match Aziz remained undefeated on 94 off 49 balls. He struck three sixes and 13 fours, while Rizwan was unconquered on 90 off 53 balls. He hit six sixes and eight fours.
