QUETTA: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said that Prime Minister Shahid Abbasi must have pleaded with Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar to issue NRO for Nawaz Sharif.
He lashed out at the prime minister’s recent meeting with CJP Saqib Nisar.
Addressing a joint press conference in Quetta with Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Imran alleged, “I am sure PM Abbasi must have pleaded in the United States too to save Nawaz.”
Speaking about the recently held elections for Senate chairman and deputy chairman, Imran said a strategy was formed not to let candidates of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) be elected for the coveted positions.
Nawaz Sharif started horse-trading in Pakistan, he said.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo on Thursday warned of marching towards Islamabad if Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi did not apologise for his remarks against Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani.
He termed PM’s statement condemnable and demanded him to apologise.
Earlier, at separate gatherings in Nankana Sahib and Lahore, PM Abbasi had expressed concern over horse-trading in the Senate elections. “We got a chairman who was not known in the political circles before,” he taunted. His statement had sparked anger among the opposition as Imran Khan had also criticised him.
