Girls Leadership Conference ends at SBBWU

PESHAWAR: A two-day Girls Leadership Conference (GLC) concluded at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) here on Wednesday.

The Centre for Awareness Training and Development (CATD) had organised the conference in collaboration with the SBBWU at the university campus.

Around 130 girls’ students had enrolled for the GLC that provided them skills training and held sessions on communication. CATD co-founder Azizullah Bangash said that his organisation was working on entrepreneurship training for girls.

It was experiential based learning programmes that fill the gaps between academic and markets, he added.

“The university provide a broad base of knowledge to students, but they curriculum was lacking in provision of practical project-based knowledge to students that could help them in the students practical life,” he added. It was the third event at the SBBWU where the some of the hosts were the beneficiaries of the first batch.

Assistant Director University Advancement Sehrish Zafar said the organisers charge Rs300 as participation fee for the activity.

Later, Vice-Chancellor Dr Razia Sultana distributed certificates among the participants of the GLC.
