Pakistan maintain winning run in Asian Squash
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan continued their unbeaten run intact in the Asian Squash Men Team Championship being held in Korea beating Sri Lanka 3-0 in the second match of the Pool Thursday.
Tayyab Aslam prevailed over Gihan Suwaris 11-2, 11-5, 11-5 to put Pakistan 1-0 up with Amaad Fareed getting better of Ravindu Lajsiri 12-10, 11-4, 11-5 in the second match. M Asim Khan then made it 3-0 winning against Druvinka Perera 11-5, 11-6, 11-9. Pakistan women got their first win of the event beating Thailand 3-0.
Madina Zafar got better of Anantana Prasertratanakul 11-4, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5. Faiza Zafar defeated Tuddaw Thamronglarp 11-7, 11-1, 11-1 with Riffat Khan coming good against Suvipa Kitvijarn 11-2, 11-3, 11-7.With the win against Sri Lanka, Pakistan has now qualified for the knock out stages of the event.
