Tax offices to remain open tomorrow
KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has disallowed leave to tax officials and directed to ensure their presence on Saturday, March 24 by observing normal working day, a statement said on Thursday.
In a notification, the FBR directed all the chief commissioners of Large Taxpayers Units and Regional Tax Offices and corporate tax offices, that all the offices of Inland Revenue would remain open and observe normal working hours on Saturday, March 24, 2018. The FBR also directed the chief commissioners to ensure attendance of all officers and staff. “No casual leaves may be allowed and already allowed leaves may be cancelled,” it added. Officials at tax offices said the directives had been issued in the wake of shortfall in the revenue collection. Usually, the FBR issues such directives on last Saturday of a quarter, they said.
