Millions of rupees spent on faulty irrigation system in Bara
BARA: The government has allocated millions of rupees for irrigation system including water channels and canals in Bara sub-division.
The officials of the Governor Special Development Programme (GSDP), Agency Planning Officer Faridullah Burki, Irrigation Department SDO Mehmood Khan Wazir and Fata Member National Assembly Nasir Khan's special assistant Adnan Nasir Afridi inaugurated a minor canal and water channel in Akakhel area.
They said that the projects were launched to rebuild the destroyed irrigation system in Bara.
"At least 15000 acres land will be irrigated in Bara," Adnan Nasir Afridi said. He added that Rs150 million had been spent to repair the damaged water channels. He said the projects would complete by June this year. Adnan said Rs200 million would spend on the irrigation projects next year.
