‘Chirag-e-Badr’ function at NUML
Islamabad: National University of Modern Languages (NUML) held ‘Charagh-e-Badar’ function here on Tuesday, says a press release. NUML Rector Major (r) General Zia Uddin Najam was the chief guest of the ceremony, while head of English Studies department and supervisor of ‘Charagh-e-Badar’ programme Prof. Dr. Arshad Mahmood, faculty members, guests and students were also present.
‘Chirag-e-Badr’, a programme initiated by Rector NUML General Zia Uddin Najam back in December 2015, in which children from the slum areas who were actually beggars were picked to provide them education alongwith food, pick and drop and a monthly stipend to keep them away from beggary. This programme was started with seven children and today it this number reached to 50.
