Mumtaz Hussain, a Pakistani American writer, artist and film director’s book of short stories “Lafzon main Tasweerain” was launched amid heavy showers in the provincial capital, at Alhamra Arts Council’s Hall No 3 on Sunday evening.
The book is a collection of short stories by multi-dimensional personality Mumtaz Hussain, who has won many international awards in filmmaking and script writing in the USA, India and many other countries of the world. The highly entertaining ceremony was presided over by the famous writer Mustansar Hussain Tarrar while the chief guest was provincial Minister Mian Atta Muhammad Manika. Renowned journalist Mujeebur Rehman Shami, Dr Khawaja Zakria, Yasir Peerzada and Dr Maghiana spoke about the writer and his book. In their addresses, the speakers highly appreciated the book and paid tributes to the writer. Mumtaz Hussain is a New York-based artist, writer and film director, who is a NCA graduate. His art movie “Art=Love2” won him seven international film awards at Los Angeles, Los Vegas, New York, Berlin and Jaipur Art festivals. His upcoming movie script “The Kind Executioner”, revolves around life of infamous executioner Tara Masih. This script has bagged first prize at Jaipur International Film Script Competition. In the same contest, second prize has been won by Indian Wippin Bihari Goyal, while third prize has been adjudged to Americans Linda Lamberg and Geoffery Allan. The ceremony was attended by many people from different walks of life.
