Motorbikes to be used for firefighting
PESHAWAR: The Rescue 1122 has launched motorbike service to extinguish fire in the narrow urban streets in the provincial capital, officials said on Monday.
The Rescue 1122 officials said the motorbikes would be rushed to the urban areas of Peshawar in case of any fire in a narrow street. "We have launched the 250cc motorbikes with 50 liter water tanks and two fire extinguishing cylinders to rush to put out fire in narrow streets within the city," Bilal Faizi, the spokesman for the Rescue 1122 said on Monday. He added that these bikes will respond quickly than heavy fire trucks due to crowded crowds and narrow streets.
The official said Rescue 1122 Director General Asad Ali Khan had directed to increase the number of motorbikes and introduce the same in other cities for quick response to fire incident. He added that the Rescue 1122 had recently introduced small fire trucks as well as mobile hospitals for better respond to medical emergency and fire incidents.
