ISLAMABAD: Keeping in view the security situation in the country and threats to Chinese nationals in the capital, a security seminar was held at the Allama Iqbal Auditorium of International Islamic University (IIU) by the Industrial Area Police. The seminar held in collaboration with Chinese Student Council and representatives of the University security of NUML and IIU was attended by ASP Industrial Area Abdul Wahab, SHO Sabzi Mandi police station and other police officials. In addition, representatives of Chinese Embassy, Chinese councillor of cultural exchange, director of Chinese security at the Chinese Embassy, representative of Chinese overseas association, president of Chinese student council, and focal person for Chinese security in the Industrial Area and a large number of Chinese students studying at different institutions of Islamabad.
The Chinese students were apprised about the background of arranging this security seminar and guidelines to be followed while staying in Islamabad whether in university campus or outside in private accommodation. They were also sensitised about steps to be taken for personal safety and what Islamabad Police are doing to keep them safe. Representatives of the Chinese Embassy also addressed the Chinese students and asked them to cooperate with the Islamabad Police.
SDPO Industrial Area assured the Chinese nationals full security and said Islamabad Police are committed for fool proof security to all foreigners.
