LAHORE: A judicial magistrate of cantonment courts on Saturday dismissed bail petitions of three accused of hurling a shoe at ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at a ceremony in Jamia Naeemia, Garhi Shahu, after the police informed him the Anti-Terrorism Act had been included in the FIR.
As the magistrate took up the petitions, an investigating officer presented the record of the case and stated that section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, had been added to the FIR during the investigation. He said after the addition, the magisterial court had no jurisdiction to hear the bail petitions.
