Shoe and ink attacks: Telecasting scenes of humiliation contested

ISLAMABAD: Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has converted a writ petition into a representation and sent it to Pemra where a petitioner had contested telecasting scenes of humiliation on TV channels like shoe hurling and throwing ink, resulting in further humiliation of the affected person.
IHC bench has directed Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) to examine the issue and pass the appropriate order within a specified time after giving the petitioner an opportunity of hearing.
The writ petition was disposed of accordingly.
