DUBAI: Karachi Kings’ captain Imad Wasim is expected to be fine after suffering a nasty fall during their HBL Pakistan Super League match against Lahore Qalandars here at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday night.
With the game in a crucial stage, Imad backpedalled to pluck a fine catch to dismiss Sohail Khan off Mohammad Amir but bumped his head and neck into the turf in the process. The Pakistan all-rounder was stretchered off the field. He had scans and was kept under observation on Sunday night. Later on Monday afternoon, a PSL tweet announced that “his vitals are fine”.
Earlier, speaking after the match Karachi coach Mickey Arthur brushed aside speculations that Imad might have suffered from a serious injury.“Imad seems okay,” said Arthur who described Sunday night’s encounter against Lahore as “a fantastic game, something the tournament needed.”Qalandars edged Karachi in a Super Over thanks to some brilliant bowling from Sunil Narine in the final over.
