NGOs representatives in parliament conspiring against Islam: Fazl

LAHORE: The chief of his own faction of JUI, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, said the conspiracies to abolish or amend the laws relating to finality of prophethood and Islam were being hatched by the representatives of NGOs sitting in the Parliament.

The Parliament members, working on the agenda of NGOs and the Western powers, knew nothing about Quran and Sunnah, and expecting them to legislate for Islam was a far cry, he said. Fazl was addressing as chief guest the Ameer-e-Shariat Conference in the memory of Syed Ataullah Shah Bukhari, the founder leader of Majlis Ahrar-e-Islam, at Aiwan-e-Iqbal Friday night. He claimed that legislators of his party obstructed the legislation against finality of prophethood. He expressed sorrow that widespread foreign-funded conspiracies were carried out to make different schools of thought like Shia, Barelvi and Deobandi fight against one another in the country so as to relieve the government from the pressure of Muslims against anti-Islam legislations. He warned that unless the Muslims displayed unity among their ranks in the country, the dream of bringing an Islamic revolution would remain elusive. “Those ulema and scholars advocating the separation of religion from politics are actually trying to enforce secularism in the country,” he opined. Fazl said despite the fact that different schools of thought had been fighting against each other and carrying the bodies, yet the emotional youth became victim of such conspiracies easily. The conflict of ideologies and thought was being used to make people fight and remain slave of the colonial powers, he added.

The JUI-F chief said some people in the country worked for continuing with the US slavery and argued that it was indispensible for the country. He said those who wanted to enforce unlimited freedoms in the country should go to the US or the UK where they claimed to have such freedoms. He lamented that legislations for the so-called women rights in Punjab were brought in with the beautiful and attractive names. He warned that protection of rights in the country could only be ensured through Quran and Sunnah. He said by igniting the sectarian feelings, an environment was created where even the sane advice became a sin or crime. He recalled that the Islamist leaders in the past succeeded in resolving issues with the display of solidarity and their approach was still the only way forward for us to resolve the issues facing the masses.
