Islamabad: Adviser to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage (NH&LH), Irfan Siddiqui will today (Saturday) inaugurate two new facilities created at ‘Shehr-e-Kitab’ (City of Books) in F-7 Markaz to promote book reading habit among the people.
The ‘Shehr-e-Kitab’ consisting of over 30 stalls was launched by the National Book Foundation (NBF) in 2016 to promote book reading culture through providing books on diversified subjects, academic books and educational material at discounted rates.
The `Book Cafe’ is being added to the ‘Shehr-e-Kitab’ where tea, coffee, and other eatables will be available for the book readers. Besides, a reading room is also being set up at the ‘Shehr-e-Kitab’ where book lovers will be able to study with comfort.
The book friendly initiative of ‘Shehr-e-Kitab’ received an overwhelming response from the local visitors during the span of two years and after addition of these two facilities, it will prove as more attractive and effective for the local dwellers.
