Be prepared
The news that Pakistan’s name will be put on FATF watchlist has dominated the airwaves for quite some time now. The matter is of immense significance and concern and we need to take corrective measures to deal with the situation. Burying our heads in the sand like an ostrich will certainly not make the predator (FATF) refrain from doing what it is contemplating to do to Pakistan.
If this critical issue is not addressed in an effective manner, Pakistan will be moved from FATF’s grey to the black list. If this happens, the ramifications will be devastating for Pakistan. The higher authorities must act in a prudent manner to steer the country out of this mess. We cannot afford to let things go out of hand and cause irreparable damage to the country’s economy and image.
