The Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) organised a painting exhibition by young artists — Seemi Fakhar, Sajid Khawaja and Younis Roomi — here on Thursday.
Parliamentary Secretary Cabinet Division Raja Javed Akhlas was the chief guest on the occasion. RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed and Naheed Manzoor were also present on the occasion.
More than 70 art pieces, comprising landscapes, portraits, abstract art, impressionism and calligraphy were put on display which attracted the art lovers of the twin cities.
Addressing on the occasion, Raja Javed Akhlas said that the artwork of painters is highly appreciable as colour combinations and techniques are unique.
Javed Akhlas praised the efforts of RAC for providing a platform to young artists for introducing their talent to the residents of twin cities. He said that Seemi Fakhar painted the folk cultural heritage of Pakistan in an attractive manner.
Speaking on the occasion, Naheed Manzoor said that artists are very important for presenting the soft image of the country. She said that the art pieces of Seemi Fakhar and Sajid Khawaja are of versatile nature.
Younis Roomi has highlighted women’s issues and ‘sufism’ through his paintings. He gave the message of peace through his paintings.
RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed said that the basic aim and main object of Rawalpindi Arts Council is to promote art and culture. It has been striving hard to boost activities relating to the field of art and culture.
The exhibition will continue at the Rawalpindi Arts Council for public till March 17.
