PML-N is largest political party, says Shahbaz
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Saturday expressed happiness after the party-backed candidates won 15 seats in Saturday’s Senate elections.
“No worldly power or conspiracy can defeat someone who has the help from God,” Maryam Nawaz said in a social media message. She also appreciated the PML-N leaders for supporting the party and remaining steadfast in difficult times.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said Nawaz Sharif will win all the elections that will take place in the country with the blessings of Allah and the support of the people. Speaking to media, she said Nawaz Sharif served the people of the country and not a single charge of corruption was proved against him.
Slamming the PTI chief Imran Khan, Marriyum said he was leveling the allegations of horse trading against his own party members. She said the PTI leader used to curse the Parliament and his party didn’t give due respect to the institution. She said the PML-N is being meted out unfair treatment as Nawaz Sharif was disqualified as its president and subsequently it was deprived of its participation in the Senate polls. She said the people of Pakistan are supporting Nawaz Sharif. She said the people who deserted him had to face embarrassment. She said the politicians who will not stand by Nawaz Sharif will ruin their political careers.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated the PML-N-backed Senate candidates over their victory in elections. “In his felicitation message, Shahbaz Sharif said the newly-elected senators should utilise their energies for the supremacy of the Constitution, rule of law and strengthening of the democratic system and play their role in the legislative process.
The chief minister said he hoped that the newly-elected senators would come up to the expectations of the nation.
He said results of the Senate elections proved that the PML-N is the largest political party of the country and it lives in the hearts of people. He said the PML-N could not be expelled from the hearts of people through lies. He said that for leaders of politics of lies and conflict, the result of the Senate elections is a writing on the wall. He said the PML-N would sweep the 2018 general elections.
