Sadequain’s mural exhibition opens

LAHORE: The city of Lahore is the cultural capital of Pakistan and the Lahore Museum is its entrance; therefore, the Punjab government is paying special attention to preserve and promote art, culture & archeology and utilising all resources to restore and protect Sadequain’s Mural.

This was said by Umer Rasool, Additional Chief Secretary Punjab at the inauguration of Sadequain’s mural exhibition at the Lahore Museum on Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, Director Lahore Museum, Humayun Mazhar Sheikh, in his speech commented that Sadequain’s creations are our national asset and it is our duty to protect and preserve them; therefore, the Punjab government is utilising maximum resources to preserve this national asset.

Explaining about the Sadequain’s mural and the Punjab government’s efforts to protect them, he added that the restoration work on Sadequain’s mural is being done in a highly professional manner and the officers concerned have been specially trained from India for this purpose. He informed that until now, work has been completed on 16 panels out of a total of 48 panels of Sadequain’s mural.
