NAB asked to shift cases against former official to Peshawar
PESHAWAR: The People’s Accountability and Transparency Forum, Fata head Ghani Gul Mehsud has asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal to shift the cases against Peshawar Development Authority (PDA)’s former director general Muhammad Saleem Hassan Wattoo to NAB Peshawar regional office instead of pursuing these in NAB Rawalpindi.
In a statement, he said these cases of misuse of power against Wattoo were being handled by NAB Peshawar, but these were shifted due to unknown reasons to NAB Rawalpindi. He argued that the cases were concerning his tenure as the director general of PDA and the issues too were relevant to Peshawar and the investigation ought to be carried out by NAB Peshawar. He said this wasn’t understandable as to why these cases were taken away from NAB Peshawar and handed over to NAB Rawalpindi.
