KARACHI: President Mamnoon Hussain on Monday met a delegation of leading businessmen led by prominent businessman and senior leader of the PML-N at the state guest house in Karachi and discussed the issues of business community and matters concerning economy of Pakistan.
Ishtiaq Baig highlighted the achievements of the PML-N during their present tenure, mainly law and order situation, elimination of loadshedding, high economic growth and infrastructure development. He said that Karachi owes thanks to Nawaz Sharif and the PML-N for the Karachi operation and returning Karachi city its lights and peace.
The president in his speech said that Karachi is an important city and a business hub of Pakistan. He said that he was glad to learn that business community had contributed Rs4000 billion in revenue compared to Rs 2000 billion in 2013. He said that Green Line Bus Project, Lyari Expressway, infrastructure projects and K-IV water project are the initiatives of the federal government for Sindh.
President also appreciated the efforts of Ishtiaq Baig for organising the interaction and said that he would be the bridge between him and the business community.
The delegation comprised of Bashir Jan Mohd, Imtiaz Hussain Abbasi, Faisal Hussain, Zahid Saeed, Asif Nisar, Hassan Bakshi, Mian Zahid and others who assured the president of their support to the PML-N.
