Islamabad record easy win against Multan

DUBAI: Islamabad United edged out Multan Sultans by five wickets in the 6th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) here Sunday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The 114-run winning target was met by Islamabad United as they recorded a convincing domination over Sultans.Luke Ronchi and Farhan opened for Islamabad United against Multan Sultans to chase down 113 in the 6th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Muhammad Irfan bagged first wicket of the innings with Luke Ronchi handing the ball straight from his bat to Pollard’s hands in first slip. Islamabad United were one

for nil at 0.2 overs.Incoming Walton played Irfan for a four giving United five runs in first over.

Islamabad United scored 86 at the loss of five wickets by 15 overs. United seemed in charge of the game as 30 runs were needed on 28 deliveries.Ahmed Shehzad and Kumar Sangakkara opened for Multan Sultans against Islamabad United with the latter giving a catch in first slip early on.

Sultans were pushed on the back foot early on in the match with United attacker Rumman Raees averting Sangakkara danger. Darren Bravo was the second one to go falling prey to Sami delivery at 2.1 overs. Sultans were 24-3 at 5.5 overs. The team managed 54 runs at the loss of four wickets by 12.0 overs. Sultans could only manage 113 in 20 overs against United in Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Rumman Raees and Shoaib Malik contested the toss and the former elected to bowl first after United won the toss. However, the match was delayed by almost 15 minutes as covers were called for rain. — Agencies
