Indian Army celebrating ‘Year of Disabled Soldiers’
ISLAMABAD: With increase in the number of wounded and injured soldiers of Indian Army in the wake of its encounters with the freedom fighters struggling for freedom in various parts of India, including Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), the Indian Army is celebrating 2018 as the 'Year of Disabled Soldiers'.
At the same time grumbling of veterans, war widows and disabled Indian soldiers is also enhancing in India.
According to a media report, the Indian Army organized a mega rally in Rohtak in Hariana state in order to address the grievances of veterans, war widows and those disabled in the line of duty on Sunday.
As many as 22 stalls were set up to resolve the pension anomalies including others such as Canteen Smart Card registration, Aadhar registration and also to look into resettlement issues.
The Indian Army gifted 31 specially modified scooters, one motorized wheelchair, 20 wheelchairs and several other grants to the disabled soldiers. 10,000 servicemen attended this mega event, claimed an Indian an official.
