IIU launches smoking-free campus drive

Islamabad: The International Islamic University has launched a one-month-long campaign to make the campus smoking free and advocate ways to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
As part of the drive, a programme was held on women’s campus, where its director, Dr. Farkhanda Zia, was in the chair. Senior medical officer Dr. Asia Tahir as the resource person engaged participants in daily exercises to stay healthy.
She also called for the use of simple diet and urged youths to refrain from junk food. Ms Rabia Mushtaq, lecturer of the Psychology Department, highlighted the element of willpower for adopting healthy activities. Dr Farkhanda Zia said cleanliness was greatly highlighted by Islam.
