Arrest of Haqqani through Interpol approved
ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to bring back Husain Haqqani, former ambassador of Pakistan to the USA and central character of Memogate scandal, through International Police (Interpol).
According to details the Ministry of Interior has given a approval to arrest Husain Haqqani through Interpol and FIA has written a letter to Interpol headquarter in France stating that Haqqani is proclaimed offender and he had assured Supreme Court in 2012 to come back in Pakistan but despite of repeated notices he is not appearing before court.
The Supreme Court has termed the Memogate scandal the matter of national politics and ordered to bring back Husain Haqqani in Pakistan through Interpol.
The Interpol headquarter in France has confirmed the letter written to it by FIA, however, Interpol will decide within couple of days that it would issue or not the red warrants of Husain Haqqani. After issuance of red warrant by the Interpol a team of FIA would proceed to USA to arrest Husain Haqqani.
