SUKKUR: The PPPP Chairman Billawal Bhutto Zardari said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif celebrated court decisions against his grandfather ZAB and his mother, besides all of his opponents, adding that now he is raising hue and cry over when the courts have announced verdicts against him and his family.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of 300-bed National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases ( NICVD) in Sukkur on Saturday, he accused Imran Khan of promoting Talibanisation in the KPK. He said the PTI leader has paid Rs 270 million as extortion to a KPK madressah this year and had also paid Rs 300 million to the same in the last year.

He said both Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif are power hungry. He said Nawaz Sharif has always manipulated the judiciary verdicts. He said it is a known fact that Nawaz got Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari disqualified over trumped up charges. However, when the courts awarded him life imprisonment, Nawaz Sharif fled the country after securing presidential pardon from military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf. Chiding the disqualified leader further, the PPP Chairman said Nawaz Sharif never respected the Parliament as he would hardly attend the parliamentary sessions. Similarly, he never visited his own government in Balochistan which led to his party's downfall there.

Bilawal expressed serious concerns over a judicial observation made during a trial regarding shifting of Sharjil Memon's case to Punjab and termed it extremely dangerous. Critcising the NAB for its "double standards" he said the former information minister Sharjil Inam Memon was arrested from the airport and was sent to prison from the hospital whereas Dr Asim Hussain was similarly persecuted. However, the same NAB, he charged provides VVIP treatment to Nawaz Sharif.

Taking about the GDA, he termed it an alliance of the dis-functionals who enjoyed power in every government including PPP, Nawaz, Zia, and Musharaf. He accused them of illegally multiplying their assets and becoming millionaires and no government ever held them accountable.

Objecting to the Million Tree Tsunami Project of the KPK and the metro projects of the Punjab, Bilawal asked the people whether they want NICVD-like health and education projects or the fashionable Metro and tree plantation projects. He lamented that neither Imran Khan nor Nawaz Sharif have built a hospital like the NICVD in their respective provinces. The PPP Chairman said Sindh has improved in a big way. He said the infant-mother mortality rate in Sindh has dropped by 50 percent which is a 50-year record in the history of Pakistan. He said poverty reduction projects have been initiated by the Sindh government at the union council level and said large number of families have benefited from it. Bilawal said 1,700 Reverse Osmosis Filtration plants have been installed in different parts of the province. He said we have constructed five bridges on the Indus river. He said even the Chief Justice of Pakistan was impressed with the working of the Karachi's JPMC Hospital where he donated a token amount.

Bilawal said termed it unfortunate that no one, except the PPP practices issue based politics in the country. The governments and political leaders are not concerned with the problems of the people and are only interested in self development. He said Nawaz Sharif is raising the slogan of "contempt of people's mandate and the parliament," but is the first one to destroy the prestige of the Parliament when he comes into power. He charged the present government of trying to promote their "personal airline" by selling the PIA. He said the government is trying to privatise the Steel Mill and other national assets which he said will be severely resisted. He said the Nawaz government was only interested in building the Orange Train Project instead of giving importance to projects of public welfare.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah said the federal government has only released Rs 27 billion from the Rs 400 billion allocated for the Sindh road network. He said this is a election year and the PPP will win the election from across Pakistan and will address all the problems they inherited from the Central government. He said the PPP believes in service to the people of Pakistan. He said the National Institute of Cardiovasular Diseases, Sukkur is the second largest hospital in Sindh which will benefit the people of South Punjab, Baluchistan and other cities.

The Leader of Opposition Syed Khursheed Shah said Billawal Bhutto possess all the qualities like Shaheed ZA Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. He said Billawal completed the promise of his late mother and grand father by providing top notch cardiac facility of National Institute of Cardiovasular Diseases in Sukkur, Sehwan, Hyderabad, and said soon they would be established in Khairpur and Mithi as well. Khursheed Shah said n the next month Bilawal will inaugurate the 1,100 flats constructed for the labourers. He crtiicsed Nawaz Sharif for failure to end the exploitation of labourers, peasants, poor and the youth by not setting up industries to overcome the large scale poverty. He said the PPP wanted a Pakistan of Quaid-e- Azam, ZA Bhutto and BB Shaheed.
