PESHAWAR: Three people were wounded in a bomb attack on the vehicle of a government official in Dir Colony on the Ring Road here Friday morning.
Officials said that suspected militants had planted around three kilograms of explosives in a motorbike to carry out the terrorist attack.The attackers detonated the explosives when the vehicle (AA-5855) of Shakil Khan, deputy director of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), was passing nearby.
Rescue 1122 officials said three people were injured in the blast.The injured were rushed to the Naseerullah Babar Memorial Hospital located on the Kohat Road in Peshawar.This was the third incident in the four days that caused fear about the return of terrorist attacks in the city, particularly among the residents of the villages located on both sides of the Ring Road.
On Wednesday night, two unidentified attackers hurled a hand-grenade and then opened fire on the PAF police post on the Ring Road.No casualty was reported in the attack.The police suspected that one of the fleeing attackers sustained bullet wounds when the cops retaliated.
In another incident, unidentified motorcyclists opened fire near a police checkpost at the intersection of the Kohat Road and Ring Road.The gunmen escaped after initiating the attack. No casualty was reported in this incident also.
