Senate chairman hosts informal lunch for AJK PM

ISLAMABAD: The leaders of all shades of opinion are of the view that Pakistan’s future security and prosperity could be ensured only through undiluted democracy and the election process should be allowed to perpetuate without any impediment. Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani hosted an informal lunch in honour of Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider in his chamber at the Parliament House on Friday where Chairman of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and Leader of the House in Senate Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq, Leader of the Parliamentary Group of MQM-Pakistan Colonel (R) Tahir Hussain Mashahadi, General Secretary PPP Punjab Chaudhary Manzoor Hussain and PTI stalwart Senator Shibli Faraz were present. The guests discussed performance of the Senate and its role in the recent difficult months. The guests eulogized the services of Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani for establishing new democratic traditions in the Upper House of the Parliament who turned it into house of federation. Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider told the guests that violation of Line of Control (LOC) by Indian occupied forces causing great discomfort among the people of Azad Kashmir. Mian Raza Rabbani, who will call it a day in second week of next month as Chairman Senate and member of the House, is contesting on the PPP ticket from Sindh on general seat. Mian Raza Rabbani was hopeful about good prospectuses for PPP in the upcoming Senate polls.
